appearance: If Priest had been born a normal horse, he would stand around 16.4 hands, but as you can plainly see, Priest. Is. Not. A. Normal. Horse. The flesh that crawls along his body and covers his muscles and bones is a flaming red hue, the same color of freshly split blood. There are scars that litter his hide, and of course, there are the chains that dangle from him. These chains cannot be removed, though they don't seem to be causing Priest any pain. Sections hang down, dragging the ground around his front legs, while there is one chain that hangs down from his stomach, and one more that hangs down from his back legs. The only story Priest tells about his chains is that they are his sins that he carries.
The hair that makes up his mane, tail, and the feathers that cover his forelegs is an ebony hue. It is silky smooth, feathery and almost seems to float whenever he moves. No matter how fast Priest moves his mane and tail always seem to move back into places. This tends to get on the nerves of some horses, as it doesn't tangle. The feathering around his hooves are light weight and seems to simply drape along the ground. Nestled between his ears, at the center of his forehead, there is a black horn that sticks out about seven inches. The base is always covered by his forelock, which covers the onyx jewel that sits at the base of his horn.
personality: Looking at Priest, one sees a burdened stallion that carries his sins, literally. Yet, what you don't see from the outside, is a complex creature under the blood red fur and chains. Priest is very complex, as he runs by his own rules, seeing no reason to bend to others, and doesn't make other bend to him. When traveling with other equine, Priest is silent, deathly almost, as he doesn't like to talk around other horses. That doesn't mean he can't talk, it just means he won't, unless he already knows you, or is starting to take a liking toward you.
When it comes to traveling alone, Priest will stop and converse with just about any woodland creature, or anything smaller than himself. He loves to speak with things of high intelligence, but if your smaller than him, he has no problem talking. Equine foals are an exception, as they will one day grow to be big and strong. Equines are his weakness when it comes to being able to survive. He doesn't go out of his way to skirt around other horses, just don't expect him to speak if he travels by you.
Pride is one of his vanities. He knows he is a beautiful creature, having been told so from birth, and he keeps himself as clean and beautiful as possible. However, in all his proud nature, Priest is still a stallion, and a protective one at that. He treats any female, equine or creature, around him with the up most respect, unless they have done evil toward him. Then there could be a bit of coldness behind his words, but he would never strike out at a female.
Calm, cool, collected, and quite is the motto of this stud of a unicorn. A night owl by nature, he tends to stay hidden until dusk, then ventures out to continue his journey through life.
magical powers: Besides a horn? None
history: Priest was born, he wondered, and he lives. He was not born with the name Priest, but his foster mother gave it to him when he came of age. His mother was a nameless mare, who was force bred by a nameless stallion. All the blood red unicorn stallion knows is that both his dame and sire were unicorns, with his mother holding the title of Fairest, while his sire was the Wildest. Of course, as a foal, he took after his sire, the broodmare, Eimin, who took him in and raised him, called him the Little Red Devil. Eimin was a simple brown mare, with a unicorn's horn, but a horrible past that had broken her horn and left her with nothing but a stub that caused all to mock her.
Priest pitied his foster mother, as the mare tried all she could to raise him right and such, thus when he turned a year old, he slew a slightly older colt that had been kicking up pebbles at Eimin ever since he was young. At the moment Priest plunged his horn into the other unicorn's flank, piercing his heart, the first chain slipped through his flesh, sending agonizing pain throughout Priest's body. It was at this time that Eimin gave him the name Priest, saying that he was the type of unicorn that carried his sins on his flesh. As he looked down, Priest watched as the young colt he killed took his last breath and the chain became anchored into his flesh. On the ground, his blood mixed with the colt's, while Eimin's tears joined them.
From that day on, Priest wasn't allowed to travel with the small band of equines that Eimin had been with since before she had found Priest. For a fortnight, he followed along behind his foster mother, who had dropped so far back, that there were times that they lost sight of the small herd, but they would always find them.
At two years old, Priest had countless chains that linked over his body. It wasn't his doing, but the younger and older stallions that had heard rumors and wanted to challenge the Chained Unicorn. The title stayed with Priest until he left Eimin's small band, venturing out and tried to make a life for himself. Though this stud is young, he carries much wisdom and sin with him. The chains and scars his marks, this horn his banner. He is his own stallion, the Chained One. A blood red unicorn that carries his sins on his back.
